VIDEO - level 3
Digital Video Production and Editing Level 3
The Digital Video Production and Editing course (level 3) is designed to push students into the world of professional video production.
Become part of a professional production house, working as a team and individually, in all areas of video production to develop a commercially viable video product or production.
Using cutting edge post production techniques through Canapus EDIUS Pro Broadcast (www.canopus.com), all students will have the freedom to shape their edits in a completely unique way.
Students will plan, design, research and produce quality programmes utilising the skills they gained at levels 1 and 2.
The course is split into 2 units – Development and Creation.
Development (Unit 1)
This section of the course is designed to help students gain an understanding of professional equipment.
Hands on experience of our editing facilities (Canapus EDIUS) and our HDV production Cameras (Sony HDR FX1E) are given from the outset allowing students to build up skills before advancing onto Unit 2.
Knowledge of the skills and techniques required in preproduction, production and post-production are the foundations of this unit.
Creation (Unit 2)
This section of the course is dedicated to creation.
After successfully completing the development stage students are given the opportunity to produce a documentary of there choice.
The students will have to build a production from the beginning utilising their own ideas and the skills.
The documentary will solely be as an individual project showing the idea of the student that will be making it.

Ultimately the students will gain a professional knowledge of industry standard software and hardware and an advanced understanding of the use of digital video within multimedia.
As like all other courses you will be blogging each lesion and what you have learned, all strengths and weaknesses also what you may of found challenging (mini hurdles that you may of encountered).
Blogs are a key element of the course.
