IDM (Introduction To Digital Media)
IDM (Introduction to Digital Media Level 3 Mandatory Unit)
To pass this unit the learner needs to demonstrate the following techniques and skills:
o Developing a design concept.
o Demonstrating a grasp of the underlying function and purpose of each piece of core software.
o Explore how each piece of software interacts and develop a strategy to implement logical workflows when using them (such as round-trip editing).
- Creating an interface using a combination of tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash.
- Prepare and refine any other visual content using Digital Photography, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Prepare any rich-media content such as video and audio.
- Combine all the finished elements to create an interactive multimedia project within Flash.
- Using Dream weaver, embed the Flash project within a web page.
- Upload the webpage to a server using Dream weaver’s ftp facility.
- Design an online reflective journal which documents your progress. The journal (blog) must also contain a personal reflection of the final project.
